RSPCA Fundraiser

October 1st to 8th is RSPCA Qld’s awareness Week. Take the opportunity to celebrate the joy, compassion and understanding that animals bring to our lives.

As part of the fundraising events for this worthy organisation, Nose 2 Tail Pet Care is planning a special dog wash day on Saturday 10th of October to help raise funds. The usual discounted washes will be running at $12 for a bath with a towel dry or $14 for a bath and a partial blow dry, however $5 from every wash on the day will be donated directly to the RSPCA.

The event will be held at both the Oxley and Westlake stores from 9am – 1:30pm. No booking is required however for more information contact Oxley on 3716 0643 or Westlake on 3376 9917.

The RSPCA will also be holding a Door Knock Appeal from the 25th of September to the 8th of October and require volunteers to help. If you would like to become a collector and help improve the lives of animals across the state please call 07 3426 9932 or email events@rspcaqld.org.au.

Telstra Award Finalists

Pet Airways launched the first pet-only airline specifically designed for the safe and comfortable transportation of pets. The first pet flights were scheduled for July 14th of 2009. On Pet Airways, all pets travel in the main cabin not in the cargo hold. Serving 5 cities to start - New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles - Pet Airways plans to expand nationwide with easily accessible pet check-in lounges to serve its “pawsengers” in major metropolitan areas.

According to Dan Wiesel, President/CEO of Pet Airways, “Currently, most pets traveling by air are transported in the cargo hold and are handled as baggage. The experience is frightening to the pets, and can cause severe emotional and physical harm, even death. This is not what most pet owners want to subject their pets to, but they have had no other choice, until now."
Pet Airways ensures pets are in the good hands of people who love and know how to take care of pets. From the moment a pet is dropped off at a Pet Lounge, the pet is always under the care of trained Pet Attendants. Monitored by Pet Attendants, pets will fly in planes that are fully-lit, climate-controlled and have the proper level of fresh air circulation that pets require.

Pawsengers will be boarded and de-boarded from planes as quickly as possible, never left in the cold or heat, and depending on transit time, will be offered toilet facilities, food and water as necessary during stops. Pet Parents will be assured of sensitive, careful handling and the peace of mind that their pets are well looked after by people who care as much about their pets as they do.

2009 Telstra Award Short List!

Nose 2 Tail Pet Care has been short listed in 2 categories for the 2009 Telstra Awards. Final judging takes place on the 26th of June with winners awarded at a gala event on July 28th!

New Store in Westlake!!

Well the Nose 2 Tail Pet Care approach is popular! As of the 1st of July 2009 we will be operating from a second store in Westlake. This store will be offering the same service as at Oxley with dog clipping and grooming, dog washing, Eco friendly, all natural and organic treats, toys and food for dogs and cats plus the ever popular $12 dog wash operating on Saturdays.

Million Paws Walk 2009

Sunday May 17th was the RSPCA Million Paws Walk. Nose 2 Tail Pet Care was there as a group and had Reeda & Toby with Harri & Nelson, Alex & Sara with Duke, Marella & Frasier, Sarah with Zoe, Shiona with Nugget & Star and our Pets as Therapy Sponsor Dog Bailey with his owner Lyn.

Was a great day and a great turnout by all the area. All our dogs were certainly worn out for the day!! Here's to a bigger group for next years event!
